  2007 saw the first Harrisburg Street Festival sponsored by the Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District and Strawberry Square. The Street Festival attracted over 10,000 visitors for the all day FREE outside festival which included dozens of activities, demonstrations, events for families, and live entertainment.

   03. PA Hometown Heroes Banners Gain Exposure  
  Jeff Murison, Executive Director of the DID, made an appearance on Comcast Newsmakers to discuss the Hometown Heroes Banners placed throughout Downtown Harrisburg. Over 128 banners lined the streets of Harrisburg representing fallen soldiers from all over the state of Pennsylvania .

Harrisburg is alive. At one time Harrisburg was a city alive only during daytime hours, with the hustle and bustle of elected officials, lawyers, government officials and lobbyist. Things have since changed and now Harrisburg is a vibrant, thriving city all hours of the day.
